I was dreading the idea of ever having to make an announcement like this. The Nightmare Crusade animated series is cancelled indefinitely. As of now, it's already been a couple years since the last episode so maybe people figured I got bored of working on it, which couldn't be farther from the truth. I love the story and working on it has helped me through a very tough period of my life. The original draft I wrote in high school in like 2013. It's amazing to me that this story is almost seven years old already and only recently got fully published and made available to the public to read.
The world and the characters within it brought me endless joy to work with, and I'm sad knowing that their story won't be completed how I wanted it to.
So, why was it cancelled? The short answer is that life happens, and it isn't always pretty. On my part, it's due to trying to balance time between work, college, other hobbies I have, and this. Regarding the other people on my team, I won't go into too much detail for privacy sake, but one is going into the army and another has some serious issues regarding something personal and difficult to deal with, thus making communication with him almost impossible. Both of these friends of mine were crucial to the project and continuing it without them is nearly impossible.
So, what happens next? Luckily, the story is complete in written form which I published recently. This is a coincidence, as I had no idea the animation project would get cancelled until today. The story is on my Wattpad account (I know, shut up) and can be read here: https://www.wattpad.com/795659084-nightmare-crusade-chapter-1-the-nightmare-begins
Anyways, I'll continue creating animations (though most likely on a smaller scale) using the talent of the remaining team members who are still available. And who knows? Maybe I'll find people who sound similar enough to replace the others so I can continue this in the future. Life is weird and shit happens so we'll see. Until then, consider the series cancelled. I'm ready to move on to other projects that I enjoy doing. Take care.
